Both Thai and Sports massage offer stretching, but what is the difference?
Sports massage consists of a quicker pace aimed at increasing athletic performance. During the session, you’ll be asked to push, pull, or rotate your body to engage and release muscles.
Thai, on the other hand, is slower and focused on releasing overall tension. Traditionally, it is a spiritual practice and works with energy and fascial lines. While you may be asked to move/reposition in Thai, your main task is to breathe and deepen into the work.
At Rebalanced, we often flow between different modalities – and this is no different! If we are performing a Thai massage, but aren’t getting the proper response, we may utilize sports techniques.
